Critical Issues

As with any resource intensive website, the challenge is to present content to the user in a easy to understand, intuitively designed website. One of many goals for the Boys & Girls Club website is to give the North Valley community a sense of what it’s like to be apart of the club as a volunteer and member.

Along with presenting resources to visitors, it is paramount that the club have a place to display multimedia items such as pictures and video, have a destination for community members to view a calendar of events, a web blog to keep the members aware of what’s new and excited, and a way to make monetary donation to the clubs.

Our Solution

Chico Web Design deployed it’s proprietary Content Management System (CMS) which allowed us to integrate all of their dynamic requests into an easy to use administrative back-end website. Club administrators can easily log in to maintain content, add pictures to albums and rotating banners, add new calendar of events, view and process donations, create blog posts, upload videos and much more.

One of the critical issues Chico Web Design faced with BGCNV was how to engage the community to become active with their clubs. Our solution was to create tour pages of each club which would portray a “day in the life” of a club member. Administrators can upload new videos at any time.

Along with the donations and calendar of events, Chico Web Design integrated a SMS or text message notification option. If you register for a Boys & Girls club event, you have the option to enter your cell phone number to receive a SMS reminder 24 hours prior to the event. The SMS messages will only go out during business hours of 8am – 5pm.
